History

1881

Kametaro Kobayashi, grandfather of the present president, founded the Kobayashi Plating Plant business operation in Iwamoto-cho, Kanda, Tokyo in May 1881 (Meiji era in Japan).

Mainly handled plating work for the Imperial Household Agency, Japan.

Primarily involved in gold and silver plating.

1977

Systems Division established within Kobayashi Plating Plant.

Japan’s first desktop ion meter (Ioputer) with built-in microprocessor developed. Patented and brought to market.

1978

Japan’s first industrial pH/OPR controller with built-in microprocessor developed. Patented and brought to market.

Ferric chloride etching controller developed and brought to market.

1979

Cupric chloride etching controller developed and brought to market.

1982

H2O2-H2SO4 etchant analyzer/controller developed and patented.

1988

System Division transformed into a joint stock corporation. Electrochemistry Systems Co., Ltd founded.

1994

1036 Series analyzers developed and brought to market.

2003

9752 Series etchant analyzers/controllers developed.

2004

9752 Series etchant analyzers/controllers brought to market.

2023

Became a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan Material Technologies Corporation and joined the JMTC group.
